During brumation, an alligator's metabolism slows down, allowing the reptile to go without food and just "chill" for four to five months. They can't let their bodies get too cold, however, or they will die.

Maybe I should have posted this into my first thread here but I don't like bumping that anymore for silly reasons. I had to choose a different username there because if I stuck with this one they might not have allowed me to create an account.
