RE: Temporary Forum Oddities - bplus - 06-10-2023 @SMcNeill I am succeeding after selecting, backing up one space and exiting the post with the popup still up. May be a coincidence? RE: Temporary Forum Oddities - bplus - 06-10-2023 Another grymm try same trick @grymmjack Maybe it's not just a coincidence, get the name showing backspace to remove space and popup name again. While name is up hit "Save ..." RE: Temporary Forum Oddities - mnrvovrfc - 06-10-2023 Tell the new administrator that he needs to slay the gator. The at-sign belongs to the gator. Although it doesn't appear much anymore as "favicon" LOL. I noticed this menu too, becoming like other forums... RE: Temporary Forum Oddities - Kernelpanic - 06-11-2023 I just saw the following error while commenting (it works, but you don't see any icons): RE: Temporary Forum Oddities - SMcNeill - 06-11-2023 (06-11-2023, 11:36 AM)Kernelpanic Wrote: I just saw the following error while commenting (it works, but you don't see any icons): I see this same glitch. Just another day with another mysterious dragon to hunt down and slay! (As you guys have probably noticed, we're working on adding some new features to improve the forums, and these forums are FRAGILE!! Each time something new goes it, it appears to conflict with 20 old things and then stuff gets goofy.) Many thanks for the report -- I never noticed until you posted a screenshot of the issue and drew my attention to it. We'll see about getting it corrected once again ASAP. RE: Temporary Forum Oddities - grymmjack - 06-11-2023 Gah. So the buttons were missing for the editor. I didn't catch this yesterday, sorry all. The issue I think is the cache was working yesterday and maybe expired today. Anyway, what I did yesterday was make it much easier to make changes on the site. Instead of having to make changes on every theme, I can make changes in one file in one spot. Like a '$INCLUDE Anyway, sorry again. I am still learning the idiosyncrasies of this software. I know how frustrating it is when you're trying to do something and cant because the site or app or program doesn't do what you expect it should. It sucks. Thanks for your patience on all this stuff. Also something that will help get a speedy resolution to the issue is when you report an issue in the future, if you do so here, or in discord, please include a screenshot, and a URL, and what you were doing at the time. That way it isn't a bug hunt and I can get right to fixing whatever I broke. RE: Temporary Forum Oddities - grymmjack - 06-11-2023 Haha you guys crack me up! Dragons. So here's the thing we need to all grapple with (no excuses just explaining what we're up against since we're in this together):
That said, we have 2 options now: Option A: Remove the plugin and go back to how things were without the at mention function. Option B: Deal with it. Put on your slow animated GIF sunglasses and have a big glass of copium. I personally like the feature, but yeah there are definitely bugs. You guys tell me how you wish to proceed. I am also happy to share this whole experience with you as programmers. Maybe not PHP web developers but as programmers. Happy to share the pain! Love, Big Face RE: Temporary Forum Oddities - bplus - 06-11-2023 Quote:Option B: Deal with it. Put on your slow animated GIF sunglasses and have a big glass of copium.Lol @grymmjack I am testing where we are today with the at button. I also want say keep up the good work, the response time between report and fix is fantastic. I hope this is not a chore for you but something even better than a daily crossword puzzle for a challenging mind stimulating/growing exercise. Update: Crap @ isn't working at all for me! @grymmjack this is copy/pasted from last @ that worked for me to notify you. I now saved it into text file. I am attempting to get underlined link with at and while the popup comes up and I can select from it, it does not do the notify link underline thing. My little backspace trick for popup and save changes no longer works. Now I wonder if I can notify anybody??? without resort to copy/paste from txt file. Here is screen shot for this post before Update:... RE: Temporary Forum Oddities - grymmjack - 06-11-2023 Here are some bugs demonstrated in a video.. @bplus none of this works for you eh? OK I guess we remove the plugin as it is too flakey? @SMcNeill need a ruling on this overlord Big Face #1 RE: Temporary Forum Oddities - bplus - 06-11-2023 Testing at button for Steve to see if it is broken for everyone. @SMcNeill Well that worked using the trick I discovered yesterday. @grymmjack did you just change something? |
