I just wanted to help show that they were valid words that I used.  The one I'm currently stumped on is LION to TIGER.

LIN
LIG
LIGE
LIGER
TIGER

5 moves, but it somehow seems to me that could be smaller, if I could generate a move without losing that initial letter.

So swapping letters (t and g) and replacing a with i, is all one move?  I thought you only change 1 element per turn?
