By the way, my favorite game back then was Captain Comic. But I never made it to the end.  Sad

I've added the control keys into the frontend attract loop. I tried to keep it accurate to the original with the exception of "press space to play" but I think displaying the control keys is a reasonable enough alteration from the original to add  Smile  I've not heard of Captain Comic before. I had a quick Google and came up with a NES game. Looks like a lot of fun! Looks like you can relive your childhood fun online now at https://playclassic.games/games/platform...line/play/

Might be doable along the lines of this hidden gem:

https://acmepjz.github.io/meandmyshadow/

That game gets hard quickly LOL. Even with the tutorial I would have to smash my laptop keyboard. :/

There was this game I picked up as module for Porteus Linux which has penguins instead. It took me a while to remember and find it:

https://pingus.seul.org/

The central idea, to re-create this is to have a "search history" that is created by the protagonist (player), for the other members to follow along.

Thanks! This is Captain Comic:

I played for hours but never made it to the last level. Unfortunately, these old games no longer run on new Windows versions.

Most of that page returned as php errors for some reason. But as for Lemmings in QB64, I can't see any reason why not. I can't see any reason why pretty much any retro game can't be made in QB64 really. Other than finding people willing to put the time into doing it Smile

If you have a Linux distro to hand you could probably run this game in Dosbox, if the game was for MS-DOS or was created before WindowsXP became the rage. Wine instead for WindowsXP.

Could do this with a live CD/DVD but it's kind of hard to find one that carries Dosbox and few of them support persistence...

On the site, all I see is the startup screen, hear the startup melody, and then that's it.

My favorite games to date is Age of Empires I + II. It still work under Win 10. It's a pity that they weren't further developed. . . Yes, I know the new versions on Steam(?). The buildings are great etc. but I want it on my computer. With AoE, I have always design my scenarios myself: as complicated as possible, and hit it! Always for victory.

Very good games are also "Cossacks European Wars" and "Cossacks - The Art of War". Unfortunately they haven't been developed further because they contain some stupid bugs. A pity!  Sad

How very strange. And you're running Windows 10? What browser? I've never had a problem with DOSBox for this type of thing and that's just an online flavour of the same.

As for AoE, I loved it as well. I have the new version but it just doesn't appeal the same way. I loved that style of game from way back with Dune, through warcraft, command and conquer, etc, etc.
