Pete

Sure, if you count Sidney, Ohio. About 40 miles north of Dayton.

It sat there at 100% for some time doing nothing so I closed anyway and folder disappears. We had this problem before.

Anyway 3rd time instead of closing browser I started the 7z extraction while the folder was showing, got the QB64 Folder up and then everything seemed to work including not being told again it wasn't done downloading.
I'm really glad I'm not on Windows11... this is just ridiculous. Now QB64PE is being flagged even before it could be completely downloaded, not just after it could be fired up for the first time? This "not done downloading" happened to me a few times with M$'s crap browser, but with trying to download something else apparently not malicious. Firefox could be infuriating to use on Linux downloading then opening a ZIP then trying to extract from that ZIP or anything else, and cannot make a copy of the ZIP.

I guess it's useless going into "cmd.exe" terminal to use "wget" instead, M$ might decide to block that.

Not on Windows 11 and Browser neither Fox nor Edge, as I said this happened before at the other forum awhile ago.
I do confess I was reloading a new SS drive on refurbished computer.

Well who has downloaded this version to Win 10 without incident?
No issue at all, Win10 Pro 64 bit and Firefox.

Same boat. Win 10 64-bit and FireFox. No issues with downloading, except that my older FF browser can't get the download links on github to show.

Hey, so now I can just say Matt is from Sidney, Ohio. I feel a little bit better now!

Geez you guys are making me nervous. I've installed QB64pe3.3.0 in my own PC, Win11 Insider build, using Edge, no problems, and in my work Win10 PC, also using Edge, no problem. Hoping this wasn't something overly "fortunate."

(My wife was born in Akron, Ohio. Does this give me special privileges? Seems to be mentioned a lot, of late.)

Akron? Is that anywhere near Melbourne?

My Guardian game made Mark's Win 11 Defender freak out today.

Just around the corner from Melbourne: head east to the coast, southeast to South Africa and head east- you can't miss it!

Shocked
I didn't know there was so much resistance around here to alternatives to M$'s way of doing things.

I should have deleted my previous post soon after I created it, because it's turning me into a bad guy. I could have said it another way, much safer offline but I didn't. Somebody else had trouble with a web browser, and that's why I talked a bit about what I went through. Only because of Github I have to keep around Mozilla's browser although I despise it. For starters, its very name reminds me that I'm anti-social, such that I have to get along in a posting forum such as this one. I intensely disliked a pop song that was released circa 2013 that made such a big deal about one end of it, and could have gone a bit further according to mythology. That browser starts very slowly on my computer. I have to be on top of it to delete history because I'm a bit paranoid, cannot leave it to its own or I cannot recall any page that I visited last. Cannot rely on this spyware. Oh well after I finished writing this message...

Didn't like Vivaldi. Found Opera too limiting for my taste. Used Brave for a few months but don't like some things it does like offering to "install" programs from it (Reddit enough said), it cannot be disabled and their forum has become a ghost town. Updates only getting larger with no hope of loading up any faster. No more Chromium and anything based on it please. I would like to be completely free from Mozilla too.

I've been using Palemoon but it's a frustration being unable to load a few pages, such as "Releases" on Github. That's why I said what I said.

I had something happening to me while using Windows a few days ago which is the reason why I almost don't load it up any longer. Around here, I guess it's only my fault. Just say it is.

What, no SeaMonkey???

Really? Resistance to alternatives to M$ way of doing things? I don't see that here. I mean QB64 in itself is an alternative to M$ dropping BASIC for .Net and the like. To top it off, the founder of that corporation is on a crusade to turn human beings into pin cushions while feeding them full of bugs; as if he didn't make enough money making bugs in the virtual world. I think what we do enjoy around here is the functionality of things like the ability to use Windows API libraries in QB64 as well as being able to use QB64 on non-M$ systems. Now folks have to pick and choose when there is no present way to have M$ libraries run on non M$ systems without emulators. I'm not a fan of using emulators, and I personally stick with M$ because I like a lot of the QB64 Win-API uses and SHELL calls to M$ programs and routines. Do I like where the M$ company is heading? No, absolutely not. Now if you will excuse me, I have shut my system down so I can install another wonderful Windows f'update. And no, the "f" doesn't stand for free.

Me too, but more than just a few days ago. I have these dual-pane windows throughout the house. Doggone it, several of them have condensation between the two panes. That's why I tried the Insider program. But the problem persists.

But no, this is nowhere near Melbourne, or Akron, Sydney, Perth, or anywhere else in Ohio.

I find the best way to keep condensation out of Windows is to not code in the shower. I started doing that when Steve told me my code stinks, but now I just rub some deodorant on it, and roll it out on the forum!
