Length of signature
#1
Hi,

I have a link here that points to some of my shared projects:

https://www.keepandshare.com/doc/show.ph...at=0&all=y

I have found it does not fit in my signature even if I Bitly it.

My link is at: https://bit.ly/Erikskeepshar

Could some administrator increase the length of the signature??

Thanks,

Erik.

Doubled the length from 255 to 512 @eoredson

Hopefully that works for ya.

Excellent! Thanks. I thought it was on a user basis and not system wide..

Say @ grymmjack  I had a question:

Under my username is "Member"

How do I change that to something else?

User CP -> Edit Profile (second group, first entry on left-hand side)

On right-hand side at the top there's a blank for "Custom User Title". It should be blank, which means "default to Member". Enter what you like there and confirm.

Ok, I have reduced my signature down to 2 lines and have edited my user title.

Since we are on the subject of user profiles, my next question is:

The star rating. I have 3 stars. Some users have up to 5 stars..

What is the number of stars related to? Are they based on number of posts??

Erik.

(btw: I have looked at BBcode help and there does not seem to be a star list when searched for).

The stars are given according to importance! As Chief in Chief I am at the top, but out of modesty I am only showing four. One don't want to be seen as a show-off.  Wink

Code: (Select All)
user=kernelpanic
title1=Commander
title2===
subtitle=""
for i=1 to 50
subtitle=subtitle+" in Chief"
next
subtitle
===
stars1===
substars=""
for i=1 to 50
substars=substars+"*"
next
substars
===
title=title1+title2
stars=stars1

This is for a forum I've invented.

Now if you want more than 50 stars then go ahead and replace that number.

eoredson
If you want more stars you have to think about posting much more often than you might like.

I have five stars because it does have to do with the number of posts, has to be at least 1000 if I'm not mistaken.

The "senior" members must have at least 250 posts or so and get four stars.

The mini-mods (like bplus and Petr) get three stars, I don't know why, they should get six at least only because they control their own forums...

Only Steve and grymmjack get seven stars because they are the administrators.

It's because they know how to get their own stars:
