Charlie posting too much BAM at Retro

Apparently we're not liked at all there, and it must all be @grymmjack 's fault!  https://retrocoders.phatcode.net/index.p...35#msg1635

Grymm became a "New Big Face" administrator for the forums here, and that became "one reason more to less visit that site".  LOL!!

Sounds like a forum I'm content to not visit.  They want to complain and disparage other forums' administrator choices, yet they don't want members posting in their own dedicated subforums??  That's not a place for me!

If the problem is Charlie is posting 50% of the content on the forums, then they just need to become 10x more active themselves!  Increase THEIR contribution and workflow, rather than decrease HIS.  I haven't joined them yet, and this doesn't encourage me towards ever joining them in the future.  If they want a dead forum, Charlie should just leave and make his own, and let them decay in peace.  No need to stay where you're unwelcome.

The above is from the retrocoders forum's topics, and it shows you when the last post was placed inside each of the various topics... I think, from the above, that it's fairly obvious that Charie's BAM forum is just about the only part of the site that gets any traffic or usage at all. Honestly, they should be happy for his efforts to post and draw traffic to the forums there. Once he's gone, exactly what reason does *anyone* else have to ever go and visit the place??

Feel free to keep posting BAM stuff here, Charlie. If you ever take up 50+% of our forum space, I'd consider that a failure of myself and the other 300 members to keep up with you -- not any issue from your part!

Me and my quirky love for BASIC (i.e. what is good for one is good for all and do anything/everything to maintain a pulse), nothing would have warmed the wee cockles of my heart more than getting drowned out by a swath of BASIC (or anything "Retro"; damned if I can get them to pin down a definition of what "Retro" means) activity.

I'm thinking, if those guys aren't going to do it, then get out of my way 'cause papa's gonna start churning for all o' ya.

I don't know about a forum that seemingly has the mission:

Good idea to add that tidbit of context:

RetroCoders Community: https://retrocoders.phatcode.net/index.php

I haven't read this whole thread, and from what a small amount I've read elsewhere, it looks like that place is going into a slow, horrible death.

Lack of clarity, lack of vision/scope/goals/intent.  No definition of what "Retro Coder" and "Retro Coding" mean.

A rudderless craft with no paddles heading right smack for the falls.  Could they not at least make the pending doom worth it ?

Ah there you go!

Oh sorry there are more posts... I was replying to part where Charlie realized he was moderator of that board and did some garbage removal. Smile

Re: Steve's link to aurel's post (which fortunately no one there replied to)

It is odd aurels immediate reaction to grymmjack!?!? He posted similar at his forum.

I think it is something about authority figures, so weird to have such strong reaction to stranger (I think they are strangers to each other).

LOL jeez.

It's the internet, people are going to argue and complain no matter what someone does.

Don't take it too seriously @CharlieJV - I certainly don't.

Sometimes people don't like other people just because the way they look, talk, act, even though they aren't doing anything deliberately wrong, etc.

I don't know what you or I did to warrant this kind of discussion, but whatever. It's a big internet.

If we took all of this so seriously we'd never get anything done, or communicate because we'd be too busy getting our feelings hurt or being emotional.

Life is too short for all of that.

@CharlieJV I don't know the back story but my advice: ignore all of this crap.

It might have more to do with having his own place to command, than the raison d'être of that forum.

Delayed reaction over here.  Thanks!

ADHD over here, but all cognitive disabilities have some overlap in of the plethora of traits.  Like regulating emotions.  Whenever I realize I've made a mistake because I didn't understand something (getting clarity is more often than not a game of "Where's Waldo" for me), I get way more upset about it than I should.

Much appreciated, @grymmjack !
