It's not up to date with all the latest commands and all, but it still runs a large majority of QB64 code.

Simple DirectMedia Layer according to Google, it's a graphics toolkit so a developer doesn't have to reinvent the wheel to have graphics.

OpenGL is what they picked later, consult Steve's QB64 History when it comes out for reason why the switch. Oh maybe something about getting into Android that did not pan out.

I still use the SDL version of QB64 often. EXE’s made with QB64SDL will run on my WinPE boot disks, the GL ones won’t. So I compile many my command line tools in QB64 SDL.

I do miss the feature where you got a heads u if someone posted while you were composing / composting. That was handy, and happened often.

@Pete I am getting a flash of a red square in top right corner, it does not last long and does not require you to acknowledge, same when you load up a post with screen shots and get told you are over the limit with the last download... but then you pic doesn't load.

If you have a driver's license renewal watch-out for the peripheral vision test. At least then, you know to be alert for such things.
